We used Humbug Hill provided an easy way for us to get from our rental
house in Southeastern Breckenridge to the trails around the Swan River.
There is a sizeable network of single track trails in the area. To
get to Humbug Hill follow the signs in Breckenridge to the Gold Mine.
The are several trails up the hill on the left side of the road that
access the area.
The trails on Humbug Hill are heavily wooded, nothing
near the tree line in this area.
This part of Colorado was heavily mined for gold so
there are many remains of old mining structures.
This picture and the above picture were both taken on
the same day about 1-2 hours apart during the week of the 4th of July.
This is just a warning of how fast the weather can change in Colorado
during the summer so always be prepaired.
The humbug hill
area has been heavily mined in the past and scare are still all around.
The best part of this mining legacy for ATV and Dirt Bike enthusiast is
the large amount of trails in the area.
One of many
old houses from the mining days around Breckenridge Colorade.
Someone 4th of July weekend ended early along the Jeep trails of Humbug
hill. By the looks of it, it appears this had just happened.
